Ok so we’re moving. 31 Jan.
I organise the truck for 9a, finished packing by 11a, in the new house about 11.30a, finished there about 1.30p.
Get a call from the lawyer, and tell him that the moving truck people suggest an early key pick up so that there is no hold ups on the day. He says that it doesn’t have to be done til midnight, that it depends on the sellers lawyer. Apparently he’ll have his end done by 10a.
Ok, so then I ask him what to do about the truck. I mean if we can’t pick up the key til 3p, no point in a 9a truck. He says that most people would buy one day, and move in the next… ehhh? We would then have to store our furniture for a night and be in a hotel or something for a night.
Is this really how everyone does it? How did you do it? What were your time frames? (wanting to know about people who own a house moving to another owned house only thanks!)
