Declan falls off the deck (2 steps down onto grass), and Saffron goes racing over to him ‘Are you alright, Declan?’.
Declan is about to cry, looks up at her and says ‘I’m alright, Saffron’.
Then he comes inside for a hug, and tells me that he didn’t cry cos he didn’t want to scare Saffron.
