Decadent Chocolate Dessert Recipe

I was in the mood for a decadent dessert so I looked in the cupboards and put this together 🙂 Probably not great for the diet conscious but they are small (well, thats my excuse anyway).

Sorry I can’t be specific with quantities, I just add stuff until it seems right. I’ve had a guess but it’s all about how it looks, feels, smells and most important, tastes.

Ingredients
  • Dark chocolate buttons – 1/2c
  • White chocolate buttons – 1/4c
  • Peppermint essence – 1/4t
  • Hazelnuts – 1/8c
  • Cream – 1/4c
Method:
  1. Grind the hazelnuts and sift
  2. Roast at 200°C mixing whenever the top looks done until they are golden through out
  3. Whip the cream – I just shook it in a clean container
  4. Melt the dark chocolate (I added a little cream then microwaved for 20 seconds)
  5. Add cream to the chocolate until it seems a good smooth mix
  6. Mix peppermint essence into the chocolate mix to taste
  7. Put spoonfuls of mix in miniature cups (I used silicone ones) and flatten
  8. Put in the freezer for about as long as it takes to make the main course
  9. Melt the white chocolate and mix in a little cream
  10. Sprinkle some hazelnut over the top
  11. Put in the fridge until it sets or you can’t wait any longer
  12. Serve alone or with cream
